The Cape Cod Center for Women was conceived in 1992 and incorporated in 1994 with the mission, goals and objectives to open a confidential domestic violence shelter on Cape Cod, and to provide safety, comprehensive advocacy, education, and support services to individuals and families staying in this confidential shelter. In March 2000, after a few years of planning, fundraising, and providing temporary support groups . . . the shelter opened full-time. On June 30, 2017 the Shelter program at The Cape Cod Center for Women closed. Sheltering services will be provided by the network of 24-hour domestic violence services in Massachusetts.
